Postby cashman966 » Tue Jul 22, 2008 10:15 pm

10TV just announced that Michael Crites is the GOP challenger for AG.

A quick informative biography

D. Michael Crites

ETA: The story says this will be announced tomorrow. 7/23/2008. After doing some searching I find that this is from "anonymous sources" and unconfirmed.

United States Attorney, Southern District of Ohio, 1986-1993. Assistant United States Attorney, Southern District of Ohio, 1983-1986.
The fact that this guy was a US attorney and Assistant US attorney IMHO cannot be trusted. Look at his Biography, this guy has been feeding off the citizens for a long long time.

Invite the guy to the picnic.

Conversely, one could say the individual has dedicated a good portion of his career to public service.

Moreover, whether he's been dining at the public trough, or has been a civil servant extraordinaire, I can foretell one thing he's not going to be...

Navy academy, though... I respect that.

From the Bio you found and the info I could locate about his firrm, Rich, Crites & Dittmer, I don't have any reason to question his suitability for the office.
The above is my personal, information opinion and is not legal advice. It does not necessarily represent the views or positions of my clients.

Lets ask him to give the citizens of Ohio a signed written pledge that he supports and will defend the 2A. And that the phrase "shall not be infringes" in the 2A means that and he as AG will defend the citizen's rights to keep and bear arms in this state.

I agree!!! Let's see what the guy is really made of. I am a republican, but I liked Marc Dann (well, at least his attitude toward 2A). I wont hesitate to cross party lines for the sake of 2A.

Cross party lines?

I hope you're not talking about supporting Richard Cordray for Ohio AG! We may as well elect Sarah Brady.

Here's a quote from a Columbus Dispatch article in 1992...

Richard Cordray, a Democratic state representative from Grove City, met in Washington with supporters of the Brady Bill, which calls for a five-day waiting period before buying a handgun.
Cordray said he favors the national gun control measure and will urge other central Ohioans to call or write U.S. senators and representatives urging them to pass it this year.
The bill passed the U.S. House earlier but was woven into an omnibus crime bill that has been bogged down in partisan wrangling, Cordray said. He said it appears the Brady Bill will be pulled out for possible action separately within two weeks, which is why supporters are appealing for pressure on legislators.
''I'm the only candidate in the race who supports the bill."

Richard Cordray openly bragged about supporting the Brady Bill! That's the bill that wanted law abiding citizens to wait 5 days before buying a gun.

What in the world did Richard Cordray say at the picnic?

Crites or Owen have to be much better choice (and with our 2 party system, Crites may be the only choice)

Wolf in sheeps clothing?

I found the following on the net;

Item: In Ohio, The Columbus Dispatch reports that, "Attorney General Betty D. Montgomery is peeved that handgun-control activist Sarah Brady campaigned in Cleveland (on Sept. 28) for Montgomery's Democratic opponent, Richard Cordray."

According to the newspaper, "Montgomery, a Republican, says she'll stack her record up against Cordray's on handguns. 'In Ohio, 100% of all people buying a handgun in a store have their criminal histories checked before they can purchase that gun,' " Montgomery said.

During her Cleveland appearance, Brady lauded Cordray as one who would "work to protect you." Cordray has criticized Montgomery for stopping record checks after the US Supreme Court struck down that part of the Brady Act. In fact, in spite of complaints and a separate suit by Ohio gunowners, Montgomery devised a system to fill the void in the state-charging fees all along the way. The Dispatch story quoted Medina County Sheriff Neil Hassinger as confirming that fact and saying that Brady and Cordray were mistaken.
